Maurice Wilson

The Singing Drummer

Maurice Wilson has been playing drums since the age of nine. Experienced in several genres with a focus on R&B, Blues, Rock, and Reggae, he has performed with several groups including Samoa, a smooth jazz band; Idle South, an original blues band; Good Foot Express, a Minneapolis MN based dance band; and Midnight Super Star, a Europe based journey tribute band. He played  drums and sang  at Hope Community Church in Lakeville MN. Maurice Wilson is a freelance musician and singer originally from New York, now based in Eagan, MN. He has earned the nickname "the Singing Drummer" due to his unique ability to handle both vocals and drums simultaneously.

Maurice Wilson leads his own band, Alligations, which serves a dual purpose:

Primarily, they function as an Alligator Records tribute band, celebrating the legacy of the prominent blues and roots music label.

Additionally, the band offers a versatile dance variety show for various events and audiences.

Beyond leading Alligations, Maurice Wilson is an active part of the Twin Cities music scene. He frequently performs with Diane Zilverberg Entertainment with her  band called Diane and the power, and collaborates with various other local bands.

Maurice is an entertainer who gets the party started and keeps the groove moving throughout your event.

Maurice Wilson Music is the home of the Minneapolis based house rock'n blues band, ALLIGATIONS.  Alligations celebrates the music made famous by Chicago based Alligator Records and more!
